Letter to WAVE TV Customers Regarding Prolonged Outage

By October 11, 2024No Comments

On October 7, 2024, certain servers of our video provider, OzarksGo, were the target of a cyber incident, which resulted in the loss of  TV service for our customers.

Upon learning of the potential event, OzarksGo immediately implemented its incident response plan, including deactivating impacted equipment and engaging external experts. Due to the nature of the incident, the service impact is ongoing and expected to continue for an extended period.

This outage is limited to the  TV offering. An ongoing investigation has not identified evidence that any sensitive customer personal information was compromised.

The breach at OzarksGo ONLY compromised their TV services but has interrupted the TV feed from OzarksGo to WAVE and several other providers serving tens of thousands of TV customers in Arkansas. This has in no way compromised any of our systems or any services from WAVE. Our systems remain intact. We are awaiting their repairs and unfortunately, we are on their time schedule.

We will be offering prorated bill credits based on the duration of the outage. We will not have specific details regarding billing questions until the outage is resolved and the bill credits will be offered to subscribers on the November billing cycle.

We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. We are here to answer your questions and assist. You can contact WAVE for technical support at 1.888.212.7626 or tsr@waverc.com.

Thank you for your patience and support. We look forward to the opportunity to serve you.
