You may hear us talk about Gigabits a lot. But what does that mean? First, it’s important to know that whenever refers to Gigabits, we are referring to internet speed, not a data package with your cell phone plan. WAVE Rural Connect fiber internet service will never have data caps or data throttling – you may use as much as data as you wish on a monthly basis.
Internet speed is calculated on the amount of data processed per second – called Megabits per second, or Mbps. We will offer two different speed options: 100 Mbps or 1 Gbps. 1 Gigabit per second is equal to 1,000 Mbps per second. With either speed option, you will be able to run multiple devices – such as cell phones, computers and laptops – simultaneously in your home or business without decreased download and upload speeds.
